Peter H. Bernhard, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Bernhard received his medical degree from Michigan State University. He completed his surgical residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and his urologic surgery residency at The University of Minnesota Department of Urology Surgery, where he was also a Fellow in Endourology. He is board certified and holds additional certification in Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy as well as Laser Use. Dr. Bernhard's major clinical interests are endourology and laparoscopy, urologic oncology, renal stone disease, and female urology, about which he has both taught and published widely.


Ali Khavari, M.D.

Dr. Khavari received his medical training at Pahlavi University in Iran. While there, he participated in student exchange programs with Johns Hopkins University, University of Pennsylvania and U.C.L.A. He completed his residency in general surgery at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland; in anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins University Hospital, also in Baltimore; and in general surgery and urology at Dalhousie University Hospitals in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he went on to serve as Chief Resident in Urology at Victoria General Hospital. In 1983 and 1985, he received the Physician Recognition Award from the American Medical Association and was certified by the American Board of Urology in Adult and Pediatric Genitourinary Surgery in 1982. He served as president of the Maine Urology Association from 1995 to 2001.


Richard J. Long, M.D.

Dr. Long is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School. He completed residencies in general surgery and urology at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinics, during which time he received several awards for outstanding academic achievement. Dr. Long specializes in prostate care and has presented many papers and on topics relating to prostate cancer and its treatment. He has also published widely on issues ranging from prostate cancer to the urological aspects of sacrococcygeal teratoma in children. He is a member of the Minnesota Urologic Society and a candidate member of the American Urologic Association.
